You’re probably aware that for the past number of years the NCCA have been working on updates to the Primary Language Curriculum (PLC), available on the Curriculum Online website. The new Primary Language Curriculum has now been completed with the publication of English and Gaeilge Stages 3 and 4 (Third – Sixth Class). This was accompanied by the publication of a revised version of Stages 1 and 2 (Junior Infants – Second Class), updating the original version, which was introduced on a phased basis from the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year.
Over the past number of months we have spoken to a large number of teachers and principals in an effort to understand how the New Primary Language Curriculum strands are being implemented. One of the recurring themes we encountered was a general feeling of being unsure how the new – and the 2016 oral language – updates should be implemented.
To help with these updates we have created an overview of the New Primary Language Curriculum updates and how you can implement them into your plans. Simply click below to download and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
